I don’t know about you, but those four words instantly grip me. Why? Because I know I’m about to be told a story.

When it comes to good communication, it’s hard to argue that anything is more important than carefully crafted, impactful, and concise storytelling. Whether it’s a blog post, long-form article, or a simple Instagram caption, powerful words evoke an emotional response in all people – and in turn, an investment in your brand and message.

I’m Elizabeth Katona, and I’m an Orlando-based freelance writer and editor. Obsessed with the written word since an early age, I have a passion for articulating an idea in a sharp and unforgettable way. Here’s where that passion has taken me:

  • I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Florida in 2015, where I received the John Paul Jones Jr. award for magazine and feature writing.
  • I’ve published countless news and feature stories, ranging from shark conservation to Ryan Lochte.
  • For the past four years, I’ve worked in marketing and public relations, writing press releases, brand messaging, bylined articles and attention-grabbing media pitches. I’ve worked communications both in-house and agency.
  • In my free time, I also write fiction and maintain a blog detailing my writing journey, books I’m reading, and my Disney/Orlando adventures. In short, I can’t put the pen down. Or take the Minnie ears off.

Thank you for being here, and I look forward to working with you.
